The Orthodox Church of St. Peter and Paul is the jewel of this part of Karlovy Vary. It was built in the typical Byzantine style. The church was completed in 1897. The church is a true copy of classical Byzantine buildings. The construction project was made by the architect Gustav Wiedermann from Franzensbad and it was based on building plans of the Russian academic Uchtomsk-. The interior of the church is decorated with paintings and icons, gifts of wealthy Russian guests from the close of the 19th century. |
